All Talk and No Smoke

I see you with your big facts, and your “life is amazing it is what it should be” captions. But are you truly good? Does everything online truly align with your behind the scenes action? Ask yourself, am I all talk and no smoke? Lately I have been all talk and no smoke. I’ve been telling everyone about school and my blog. But the truth is I have not written or submitted an assignment in what feels like a decade. I have let procrastination and a bit of flexing set in, and it has taken over my productivity. I’ve gotten so comfortable telling people what my plans are that I forgot to execute them. I’ve gotten so comfortable looking like my stuff is together; that I forgot it’s okay to admit life is crazy. Now I’m checking myself at the door, and making sure that I’m about what I say I’m about. I’m making sure that every word I speak has action behind them. So you know that idea you keep sharing with everyone? Shut up and do it. You know that man you keep complaining about to everyone? Shut up and leave. You know that job you’ve outgrown? Shut up and quit. It’s time to stop talking and start doing. Get silent on them. Go get in your bag sis. Go level all the way up this year. Go put some smoke behind all that talking. Words without action are meaningless. Keep striving to live a meaningful, and purposeful life. #yougotthisqueen
