A woman of Faith
“Black women all over the world are shining. Practicing black girl magic, melanin on fleek, and thriving in their careers. But it is not their skin that makes them unique, but rather similar. However, It is their story and their journey that captivates people making each and every one special in their own way.” -Taylor Mills

When I grow up…
“I knew that I wanted to be in the healthcare field because my mother was. I also knew I wanted to help people. “ –Jessica Buie
Career…
“I’m currently a Physician Assist student. A Physician Assistant is a trained/certified medical provider. I started the program in January 2018, and it is a 27-month program. Once the program is over, and I pass the board exams which is the PANCE, I will be Jessica Buie PAC/Certified.” –Jessica Buie
Lessons learned from work…
“I’m still learning time management, and how to balance work, and free time. I’ve learned how to pray, and get closer to God. I’m not doing this for me. I’m doing this for him so I figured while I’m here God should be my best friend. I’ve learned how to work with different people, because there are many different personalities in this world. You have to change your thoughts, change your feelings, and then change your behavior. “ –Jessica Buie
I am proudest of…
“I am proud of myself for making it this far. I’m proud that I understand the material I’m learning, and I can thoroughly explain my career to someone. I am proud of the faith that I have. Before I started the PA program, I lacked faith. But when you’re in a small town, and your family is miles away, you really learn how to get closer to God. So I am proud of myself for increasing my faith.” – Jessica Buie
Remember me…
“I would like to be remembered as a God fearing, humble, outgoing woman, who is willing to make relationships with everyone. I think it’s important to build relationship with everyone, because that’s what Jesus did while he was on this earth.” –Jessica Buie
Traveling back in time…
“If I could travel back in time, I would tell my younger self you’re not ugly. Your acne will clear up, and you will not have this low self-esteem forever. I promise you, you will be great and have everything you want and need. You’re going to find love in God one day.” –Jessica Buie
20 years from now…
“In 20 years I see myself smiling. I will be well into my career, and happily married with children. In 20 years I will be selfless, and giving my all to raising my children. I will be traveling, with my husband, kids, and my cat.” – Jessica Buie
Confidence to me is…
“Confidence to me is knowing how to hype yourself up. You can feel down about a test, or a situation but then you have to bounce right back. Confidence is being able to overcome anything, and still look at yourself in the mirror, and have a lot of positivity towards yourself.” –Jessica Buie
To be a black woman to me is…
“To be a black woman to me means to be the ultimate preserver. You can do anything despite the fact the weight of the world is on our shoulders. Being a black woman is bearing down with a smile, and progressing through life gracefully even though we all know it’s not easy.” – Jessica Buie
“To be a queen is to be a champion. Every queen wears their crown differently. Although our journeys make us unique, our destinations continue to make us the same. Every queen is grinding for a purpose; every queen is shining in her own light. Just remember no matter what queen, you got this.” -Taylor Mills
