Crawl before you Walk
You have to crawl before you walk is self-explanatory. But incase you don’t know here’s what the expression means. Before a baby can walk, they first must know how to crawl. In the history of mankind, you’ve never seen a baby come out of their mother’s womb, ready to walk on their own. It takes most babies a year before they can take their first steps. Recently, a friend of mine told me “Tay, you have to crawl before you walk.” See like most of my peers, I want it all right now. I don’t want to put in years before I reach success. I don’t want to struggle before I’m able to truly say, “I’m good.” But in this microwave world, we forget success doesn’t happen over night. One can most certainly blame social media. We see people with nice cars, nice wardrobes, etc. and you think I want that life too. However, what those people don’t talk about is the sacrifices they made to reach their goals and or success. Honestly queen, some people are too busy living their best lie instead of working hard for the things they want in life. I’m here to tell you, crawling is not easy. I too am ready to get up, and walk in my success, and in my purpose. But remember, life is sort of like cooking. There are certain steps you must take if you want your food to tasting good, and just right. Would you skip a step on your baked macaroni and cheese just so it can be done quicker? The answer is no. You don’t want to be the ‘who made this macaroni and cheese’ meme. So just like your meals, and just like babies, take your time. Treat every step with care, and don’t rush the process. It’s okay to crawl, and when you finally walk you’ll know you earned it. #Crawlfirst
