Heard it All Before
As I type this post, I can’t help but sing in my head “Heard it all before. But your lies ain’t working now.” I’m sure some of you queens can relate to this song. How many times has someone sung the same tune to you? They may have even sung the tune in a different key but it was always the same song. You heard the promises, the pipe dreams, the “I’ll do better”. However, you have not seen any changed behavior. Their words simply do not measure up to their actions.
Well, queen, I’m here to tell you, you’re a huge part of the problem. One hard fact we as humans often ignore is that people’s words sometimes, and in some cases, a lot of times, do not match up with their actions. We love words though. We love the pretty pictures people paint in our minds. We’re human, so we want to believe that the world is good. Trust me, if you surround yourself with the right people, the world can be good. However, you have to learn how to deal with the other part of the world that is filled with liars, cheaters, con artists, and drama.
When someone tells you who they are, do not believe them. Yes, you read that correctly. Do not believe a word that is coming out of that man or woman’s mouth. Now, of course, I am not advising you to have trust issues, and doubt everything people tell you. What I’m advising is, never allow one’s words to have more power than your own eyes. Be patient, and take your time to get to know people. When the time is right, people will start to show you who they are.
Hopefully, their words will align with their actions. However, if their words and actions do not match, do yourself a favor queen and run like hell. Always remember, words can be used for trickery. But actions do not lie. So what are you waiting for? Change the song queen; you already know all the lyrics. #actionsoverwords
