Signs Your Single Season is Dangerous
You’re single, and you’ve been single for a while now. You’re outside almost every weekend living your best life. Or you’re like how I once was, stuck in the house just hoping your future mate is going to kick down the door. Both of these are okay. However, the single-season is just that, a season.
It’s a temporary time in your life where you work on yourself, your goals, and you prepare for your future mate. It’s also a beautiful time if you choose to look at it that way. Being alone is scary, and sometimes lonely. However, you learn so much, and you fall in love with yourself in the process. But like most good things in life, you never want to get too comfortable.
Here are some signs that suggest you may be a little too comfortable in your single season. Are you extremely picky about every guy/girl you date? Do you push good potential mates away and your excuse is that “you’re just not ready”? Do you hold back being vulnerable with someone because you fear being hurt? Are you just plain selfish and don’t want to give up your “freedom”? This type of thinking, mixed in with being single for a long period of time, can be very dangerous. Queen, you have gotten too comfortable.
Now I am not suggesting that you don’t take the necessary time you need in your single season. Take all the time you need. Seek professional help if need be. However, remember that this season was only meant to be temporary and never permanent. We often think we have all the time in the world. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The good ones do go if you wait too long. Do not let your comfortability keep you in a space you can never grow from.
It’s okay to get back out there and try again. Do not let the fear of getting hurt again keep you from finding true love. If he or she is worth it, and trust me you’ll know when someone is worth it, it’s okay to take the risk. We were all placed on this earth to love and be loved, and experience all the pain and glory that comes with it. Don’t spend a lifetime running from this. Instead, choose to spend eternity fighting for it.
